Sources and assumptions
Water From Energy is developing research plans for water treatment, recovery and useful energy use. The study descriptions are proposals; no project experiment has run.
How to read the candidate shortlist
A and F are proposed decision-method studies with existing preliminary scopes. The spacer-aligned RO membrane is a separate, untested hardware hypothesis with a synthetic transport model and no execution budget.
The A–H source register contains 63 overlapping records with individual reading limits. The membrane candidate also cites its two close patent precedents directly. Record counts are not counts of independent experiments or full papers read.

- Check the result
What can measured findings support—and what remains uncertain?
Published precedent guides the work. A proposed test is not a project result.
Research evidence
The research source register identifies original studies, the methods or claims relevant to this project, and the material actually reviewed. Findings from another team do not establish this project’s performance.
Useful water at an achievable cost
Desalination already supplies cities and industry at large scale. The research question is whether a proposed change can improve the cost and reliability of the same delivered-water service. Energy, intake, treatment, maintenance, residual handling and delivery all need an explicit comparison boundary. IEA: desalination scale and energy use · California Water Board: intake and brine context.
Read the qualification findings and program source register for actual reading depth, overlapping publications and unresolved calculations. A model, a proposed controller and a measured field outcome are different types of evidence.
Budget assumptions
The eight study budgets use shared salary, employer-cost, tax, freight, institutional-cost and reserve rules. Staffing and resource quantities are preliminary planning allowances. Host arrangements, equipment suitability, laboratory methods, final sampling allocations and supplier quotes require confirmation.
Use the editable workbook or complete cost model to inspect the calculations. The budget bibliography distinguishes published rate benchmarks from project assumptions.
Before relying on the plans
A qualified scientific lead and host must confirm the feed or air source, intended use, equipment, measurements, independent replication and residual handling. Literature performance and preliminary cost estimates are not demonstrated project results or approved expenditure.
